Following years of study, practice, and teaching while completing her CYT-500, Marci continues to participate in numerous workshops, immersions and retreats with an amazing array of inspiring instructors, with studies focused mainly in Vinyasa, Yin, Yoga Nidra and Meditation/Pranayama. Her classes are comfortable and creative, peppered with a healthy dose of Ayurvedic influence. She strongly supports the idea that Yoga Asana does not have to be fancy to be meaningful. Learning together how to inhabit our bodies with compassion and presence, to age well, and embrace life’s challenges with ease and grace. Yoga is so much more than what happens on the mat.

LUCY MOODIE | YOGA

  • Yin style yoga is the “quiet yet profound” practice. Poses are held longer and are static and passive compared to other types of yoga. It is complementary to other styles of yoga like Ashtanga, Vinyasa etc. The Yin asanas, (sanskrit word for poses) are to encourage the fascia and deeper tissues to release tightness, stickiness and allow life energy, Chi or prana to flow freely.

Each pose ideally is held at least 3 minutes but may be shorter or longer depending on the individual. Options are offered and encouraged to feel the sensations targeting different areas.

Be open to try a yin practice. I will be honoured to teach as I continue to learn yin from my modern yoga teachers.

Benefits and enhancements Physical: stability, strength, flexibility and endurance. Mental: clarity, focus, concentration. Emotional: balance and maturity. Energetic: vitality, balance and flow Spiritual: awareness, intention, grounding and connection.
